The volume contains 65 historic works published by the Chairman in the period from January to October Juche 78 (1989).

The works indicate the tasks and ways for boosting the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks in every way under the uplifted banner of the Juche idea and bringing about a fresh upsurge in all fields of the revolution and construction by displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.

The Chairman in several works set forth the tasks for modeling the whole society on the Juche idea and further intensifying the ideological education among the Party members and working people.

Among the works are those dealing with the ways for further sprucing up the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu as befits a holy ground of the revolution and calling for training the young people to be reliable successor to the revolution and the young vanguard of the Party by doing the work with them well.

Some works deal with the principled matters arising in glorifying the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students as a worldwide grand political festival and pushing ahead with the work for civilizing Pyongyang City once again with the festival as an opportunity.

There are also the works giving perfect answers to the theoretical and practical matters arising in various fields of the revolution and construction including the issue of improving the urban management and managing and building roads in local areas properly and the issue for medical workers to have the spirit of devotedly serving the people and raise their level.
