Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee, presided over the plenary meeting.

It was attended by Kang Yun Sok and Pak Yong Il, vice-chairmen of the SPA Standing Committee, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the SPA Standing Committee.

Present as observers were officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, the state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters, ministries and national institutions.

Placed on its agenda were the issues of adopting the DPRK's law on the place of origin and geographical identification, law on medical examination and revised and supplemented laws on emergency anti-epidemic work and on road and recalling and electing judges of the DPRK Central Court and people's assessors.

A report was made on the gist of the relevant laws and the draft amendments examined at the SPA Legislation Committee.

The law on the place of origin and geographical identification has a mission to protect the interests of organs, enterprises and organizations manufacturing special products by establishing a system and order for registration, examination and protection of the place of origin and geographical identification and thus contribute to the development of the national economy.

The law on medical examination specifies the principled matters arising in medical examination, the action rules of medical examination institutions, the procedures and methods for medical examination, and the guidance and control over medical examination.

The law on emergency epidemic work and the law on road further detail the parts on the establishment of the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system and disinfection and legal responsibilities for violation of the emergency anti-epidemic order. Supplemented to them are paragraphs for contributing to the country's economic development and the people's convenience of life and giving a face-lift to the land of the country.

The plenary meeting studied and examined the presented agendas and adopted the decrees of the SPA Standing Committee "On adopting the Law of the DPRK on the Place of Origin and Geographical Identification", "On adopting the Law of the DPRK on Medical Examination", "On modifying and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Emergency Anti-Epidemic Work" and "On modifying and supplementing the Law of the DPRK on Road".

The plenary meeting recalled and elected judges and people's assessors of the Central Court of the DPRK.
