|
|
Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Efforts are directed to afforestation in South Hamgyong Province of DPRK. Officials, working people and students in the province planted some 4, 800 Kumya Black Pines in the windbreak forest section of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm under construction in spring of this year. At least 5, 210 hectares of black pine forests have been created in different parts of the province for the past three years. Kumya Black Pine, a tall ever-green coniferous tree belonging to Pinaceae, was personally found and named by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the DPRK. Provincial efforts are now focused on resolving the sci-tech problems in acclimatizing the trees to high-altitude regions and boosting the survival rates of the planted trees, in close contact with forestry scientists and technicians. |
