Efforts for Setting New Subjects at Universities of DPRK
Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- Different universities of the DPRK push ahead with the work to set up new study subjects in keeping with the world trend of educational development and the practical demands.

Tens of new subjects are to be set up at universities.

Kim Il Sung University is spurring the work to establish new subjects of cross-disciplinary sciences and social sciences.

Kim Chaek University of Technology puts efforts into establishing new subjects conducive to developing the basic science and training the talents, well-versed in contemporary mathematics and physics and capable of resolving the sci-tech problems arising in the field of engineering.

Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering pushes forward with the work to integrate several existing subjects into one new study subject and set up a new subject for training more mechine designers necessary for various sectors.

Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, too, furthers the work to establish new subjects on the basis of the study of the worldwide situation of textile and foodstuff industries and educational development. Among them is the one for making tangible contributions to developing the country's industrial art.

Similar work is underway at other universities across the country.
