The Ministry of Coal Industry and coal mining complexes across the country organized a socialist emulation drive to make progress in tunneling by tapping all reserves and possibilities.

More than 20 tunneling units of the Tokchon Area Coal-Mining Complex carried out their plans for the first half of the year and the Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigade of the Namyang Coal Mine accomplished its plan by the end of April.

High tunneling records have been registered at Hyongbong and Jenam coal mines.

Similar successes were witnessed at many tunneling units of the Pukchang Area Youth Coal Mining Complex, the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex and other coal mining complexes.
