Immediate Farming Promoted in Rural Areas of DPRK

Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Rural areas across the DPRK conduct rice-transplanting at the final stage and push ahead with such immediate farming as weeding, manuring and cultivation of crops and the preparations for harvesting earlier crops.

North Phyongan Province mapped out daily weeding plans for every field to direct labor forces and means to weeding.

South Phyongan Province built more than 1, 500 drying grounds up to now.

North Hwanghae Province overhauled farm machines to harvest earlier crops in a short span of time.

South Hwanghae Province makes preparations for planting after-crops while directing efforts to rice-transplanting. North Hamgyong Province manures and cultivates crops properly, while weeding fields.

The same is true of Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces.
