The Korean people recorded immortal feats in the history of the country with their indomitable mental power and through their heroic struggle, despite the unprecedentedly severe difficulties in the period of the Arduous March, the forced march as well as the period of building a new country and the period of the post-war reconstruction, the editorial says, and goes on:

Their advance in the new century of Juche clearly proves once again the iron truth that no one and nothing can subdue the people who remain loyal to their Party's leadership with an unshakable faith in the Party's idea. For the past ten years, the Korean people have faced unprecedented challenges, threats and disasters in their advance. Although the crises facing them were as severe as wars, they ushered in a new era of self-respect and prosperity, an era of our state-first principle, through a strong offensive struggle, rallied closer around the Party.

The spread of the malignant disease has arisen as one of the severe challenges facing us. Now is the time for all the people to display strongest-ever perseverance and fighting capacity to steadily carry forward the great history and traditions, in which they successfully turned the trials determining the destiny of the revolution into unheard-of great leaps forward.

It is the intention and will of our Party to successfully carry out all the work in the planned development speed this year, a year of great significance in implementing the five-year plan, and never to stop the advance toward the comprehensive development of socialist construction, given the current severe anti-epidemic situation.

The editorial calls upon all the people to break through the worst-ever trials and glorify this year as a year of great miracles and victory by giving steady continuity to the proud history and traditions of having braved manifold difficulties, following the Party.
