The media introduced in detail Kim Jong Il's party-building exploits illustrated with the portrait depicting his smiling image.

The Lao News Agency said in its internet homepage that Kim Jong Il set it as the most important task to develop the WPK into the Party of the leader both in name and reality in the whole course of leading the WPK, and successfully carried it out.

It is the noble fruition of his transparent outlook on the leader, scientific perspicacity, principled and strong-willed political resolution and mature leadership ability that the WPK firmly consolidated the unity and cohesion of the entire Party centred on the leader, it noted.

It pointed out that he developed the WPK into a powerful political force for carrying out the revolutionary cause of Songun and brought up the Korean people to be ones strong in spiritual strength, thus achieving the centuries-old miracles and changes in socialist construction.

The newspaper Vientiane Mai said that the progressive mankind is ardently praising Kim Jong Il for setting a brilliant example in building a revolutionary party of the working class with his original idea and theory and extraordinary leadership.

It noted that the history has known not a few famous men and women who made a great contribution to developing mankind, but there was no such great man as Kim Jong Il who inspired the world socialist movement with his outstanding idea and leadership and guided the cause of anti-imperialist independence.

It said that he provided the progressive people with the powerful ideological and theoretical weapon for building an independent and peaceful, new world with his energetic writing activities.

It is the greatest exploit that he smashed moves of the imperialists to isolate and stifle the DPRK and defended the peace and security in the Korean peninsula and the region by pursuing the Songun politics, it added.

It said that his party-building exploits will shine forever with socialist Korea winning victory after victory.
