Chairman Kim Jong Il, through his work "On Thoroughly Carrying out the Party's Policy of Double Cropping" issued on June 17, Juche 91 (2002), indicated the orientation and ways for rapidly developing the double-cropping in keeping with the natural and topographical features of our country which has limited area of cropland.

His energetic leadership raised a strong wind of double-cropping throughout the country and put the country's agriculture on a higher stage in which the Juche-oriented intensive farming method is thoroughly embodied.

Amid a dynamic nationwide drive for expanding double-cropping area and raising the rate of its utilization, the cooperative farms across the country increased the area of fields with vegetables and industrial crops as earlier ones while giving priority to grain-to-grain cultivation.

The Chairman made sure that all the farm fields across the country were turned into standardized fields, as required by the new century, and demobilized soldiers were dispatched to farms to reinforce the rural outposts of socialism. Thanks to his devoted efforts, a firm foundation for double cropping was laid.

Today the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is translating the Chairman's plans and desire into reality, ushering in a new era of rural rejuvenation by leading a new struggle for progress and change in the socialist countryside.
