Efforts Directed to Preventing Flood Damage in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- The State Emergency Disaster Committee of the DPRK is focusing its efforts on the work to protect the lives and safety of the people and the land of the country from flood damage in the rainy season.

Officials of the committee have scrupulously carried on the organization and guidance over the work for swiftly coping with emergency and minimizing possible damage while observing the changing climate.

They help officials of every sector and unit take a thoroughgoing measure for preventing flood damage and provide them with real-time meteorological information in connection with a relevant unit.

They make all the emergency disaster and crisis control teams re-examine the emergency information system in their regions and units and take relevant measures.

The committee has also learned in detail about the readiness of relief squads and medical teams to be dispatched to relevant areas in case of emergency, taking follow-up measures.

It directs big efforts to preserving dikes, dams and reservoirs and makes the relevant regions reserve necessary materials and tools and keep vehicles in good condition.
