Lao Papers on DPRK-Laos Friendly Ties
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Lao newspaper Pasason on June 24 dedicated an article to the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Laos.

The article said that the close relations of friendship between the two countries have developed to contribute to accomplishing their common cause for the interests of the peoples in both countries and social progress along with the lapse of time.

This would have been unthinkable without the achievements by the preceding leaders of the two countries, it stressed, adding:

The preceding leaders boosted support, cooperation and solidarity with each other on the road of opposing imperialism, achieving national unity and safeguarding peace.

With the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Bandung Conference in Jakarta of Indonesia in April 1965 as an occasion, a significant meeting was arranged between Comrade Souphanouvong, chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Patriotic Front, and Comrade Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people.

In the wake of the meeting, the friendly relations between the two countries came to flourish.

Thanks to the party and state leaders of Laos who paid official visits to the DPRK afterwards and the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, the history of friendship between the two countries has been further developed in depth.

It is the steadfast stand of the parties and governments of both countries to develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation associated with the efforts and guidance of the preceding leaders onto a new height, as intended by the leaders of the two countries and required by the new times.

That day, another paper Vientiane Times carried a similar article.
