Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- All the sectors and units of the DPRK take more anti-epidemic measures as disastrous weather has become a fait accompli. Now that various diseases may break out to disturb the anti-epidemic work, due to lingering downpour across the country, they draw up and execute detailed plans to reinforce the anti-epidemic and treatment capacity while keeping themselves highly alerted and mobilized. The state emergency epidemic prevention headquarters puts primary efforts into the work to completely end the spread of the highly contagious virus by enhancing the role of the public health sector and to eradicate the source of outbreak and spread of seasonal diseases such as an enteric epidemic. Emergency anti-epidemic units at all levels make sure that medical workers and hygienic workers are put on a red alert to swiftly respond to any emergency by flooding, and intensively sterilize the shelters built across the country. The public health sector routinely learns about the composition of hundreds of rapid diagnosis and treatment teams formed at preventive and curative medical care organs at different levels and their possession of first aid medicines and reserve medicines. It also reinforces them with more medical experts of different fields, providing them with enough medical appliances and anti-epidemic supplies to the effect that active treatment can be given in any unexpected situation. The land and environment protection and urban management sectors take measures in advance to prevent damage at the spots vulnerable to flood and get rid of the infection routes of various epidemic diseases. |
