Many touching stories came into being during his field guidance for the people.

It was at chilly dawn of May 5, Juche 81 (1992) that the aged President left Pyongyang without having breakfast to visit the Kaesong area.

He stopped the car on a road, far from human habitation, to take breakfast. After having a simple meal on the road, he restarted his journey of field guidance.

He inspected several parts of Kaesong City that day alone and left for Pyongyang nearly at 5 p.m. Then, without having any rest, he continued his work at his office until late at night.

Such stories about his devotion to the people can be told in anywhere of the country. Among them are a story about his visit to a farm village in the northern part of the country where he personally pushed his car stuck in mud, saying that any of the inhabited areas should be visited and a story about him touring various farm fields for many hours while eating fresh corn as a substitute for lunch.

The total length of course, covered by the President for field guidance until the last days of his life just after Korea's liberation from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule, is more than 578, 000 kilometers.

Indeed, his revolutionary life was that of endless devotion and efforts for the country and the people.
