Rodong Sinmun on DPRK-Vietnam Relations
Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Saturday says in an article that the DPRK-Vietnam relations are the deep-rooted friendly and cooperative ones associated with the soul of the preceding leaders of the two countries.

The first meeting between President Kim Il Sung and Ho Chi Minh, president of the then Democratic Republic of Vietnam, 65 years ago served as an important occasion of laying a firm foundation of the DPRK-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations, the article notes, and goes on:

Kim Il Sung met Ho Chi Minh, who paid an official visit to the DPRK from July 8 to July 12, Juche 46 (1957), and exchanged opinions about revolution and construction in the two countries and the development of the socialist camp.

The President took every possible measure to render material and moral assistance to the Vietnamese people in their anti-U.S. resistance for national salvation and socialist construction despite difficulties in the Korean revolution.

The DPRK-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations established and expanded by the President together with Ho Chi Minh underwent continuous development by Chairman Kim Jong Il and top leaders of Vietnam through generations.

Today, the DPRK-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations are developing into special comradely and strategic ones through the historic official goodwill visit to Vietnam paid by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The DPRK government remains unchanged in its firm stand to invariably inherit and develop the DPRK-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations in the joint struggle for the realization of the socialist cause true to the desires of the preceding leaders and the top leaders of the two countries.

The DPRK-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations undergoing stable development will make a great contribution to the interests of the two peoples, the cause of building socialism and peace and stability in the region, the article stresses.
