DPRK Premier Inspects Industrial Establishments

Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, inspected the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Chongchongang Thermal Power Plant. Visiting the Taean Heavy Machine Complex, he urged its officials and workers to carry through the decisions of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee and produce in time the custom-built equipment needed for different sectors of the national economy, mindful of the importance of the complex's duty in developing the machine-building industry of the country. He stressed the need to carry out this year's planned tasks in a responsible way with an emphasis put on improving the quality of various kinds of machine products and custom-built equipment and set the order of priority in stepping up the work for readjusting and reinforcing the production foundation. Learning in detail about the electricity production at the Chongchongang Thermal Power Plant, the premier called for holding the technical control over generating equipment as a main link to put the production on a normal track and for taking sci-tech measures to prevent the damage from seasonal factors like rainy season. He stressed the need to regard the Party policy of giving definite priority to the electricity production over the economic development as the absolute standard and substantially organize the economic work so as to supply quality electricity to industrial establishments without letup. The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of positively introducing advanced technologies into the production of custom-built equipment in close cooperation with scientific research institutes and the issue for the relevant units to provide enough accessories and materials for the operation of the plant. |
