Officials of the GAKC, the Association of Korean Women in China and the Jilin branch of the Jilin Province Regional Association of the GAKC and families of the chairperson and vice-chairperson of the Jilin Province Regional Association laid floral baskets before the statue of Kim Il Sung at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin of China and paid tribute to him.

A floral basket in the name of the GAKC was placed before the art work depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the DPRK Consulate General in Shenyang of China.

Floral baskets in the names of the Zhongnan Regional Association of the GAKC and the Zhongnan branch of the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China were laid before the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the DPRK embassy in Beijing.

Floral baskets in the names of the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China, the Association of Korean Women in China, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China and the Dandong City Branch of the Liaoning Province Regional Association were laid before the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the DPRK mission in Dandong.

A memorial service by the GAKC took place at its conference hall on July 8, the 28th anniversary of Kim Il Sung's demise.

Attending it were First Vice-Chairman Choe Su Bong and other officials of the GAKC, the chairperson of the Association of Korean National Businessmen in China, the chairperson of the Association of Korean Nationals in Shenyang City and chairpersons and members of its affiliates and other compatriots and officials of the DPRK in Shenyang City and Shenyang citizens.

The participants paid a silent tribute to the President.

Choe Su Bong made a memorial address.

He said that the Korean people could demonstrate their dignity as an independent people and lead a worthy life as the genuine masters and enjoyers of the politics, economy and culture under the most advantageous socialist system centered on the popular masses as they held the President in the van of the revolution.

The noble revolutionary careers and great exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who devoted their all to the good of the people are now shining more brilliantly under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, he said.

He stressed that they would value the traditional DPRK-China friendship, provided by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and further developed by Kim Jong Un, and make a positive contribution to developing it.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted there.

This memorial service was viewed through video-conferencing by the Yanbian Regional Association, the Zhongnan Regional Association, the Mudanjiang Regional Association, the Harbin City branch of the Harbin Regional Association and other organizations affiliated to the GAKC.
