Present there were members of the regional committee and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in different countries and personages of the organizing committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt Paektu.

The meeting reviewed the achievements made in the past decade after the formation of the regional committee and discussed the future direction of work.

Madav Kumar Nepal, co-chairman of the regional committee and chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (United Socialist) who is former prime minister of the Nepalese government, made a report.

The reporter noted that the regional committee conducted the solidarity movement in various forms and methods on websites to support and encourage the Korean people in their struggle.

He confirmed that the regional committee would as ever fulfill its mission and responsibility to create an environment favorable for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and positively build up the public opinion for forcing the U.S. to replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace accord and roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The meeting revised the rules of the regional committee and elected its leadership.

An appeal to the world progressive people was adopted there.

The appeal called for intensifying the international solidarity activities to force the U.S. to roll back its anti-DPRK policy, filth of the cold war in the last century, and to ensure durable peace on the Korean peninsula.

It also called for full support to the Korean people who are struggling to build an ideal society desired by the progressive mankind, braving all sorts of challenges and difficulties.

It expressed belief that the progressive people aspiring after the building of a free, prosperous and peaceful new world would extend firm support and solidarity to the just cause of the Korean people.
