Work for Improving Quality of Education Promoted in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- True to the idea and spirit of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the educational sector of the DPRK is working hard to improve the quality of education.

The higher education sector promotes the work for renovating the educational contents, system and methods.

Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology have intensified the education system for gifted students while scientifically selecting students, working out curriculums and improving the ability of teachers.

Sariwon University of Geology and Sariwon University of Koryo Pharmacology newly organized tele-education departments to give lectures on a high level.

Teacher training colleges have accelerated the work for putting the education contents of the subjects on a practical, comprehensive and modern basis.

Educationists in the fields of primary and secondary education devote their wisdom and ardor to creating new teaching methods and providing technical foundation.

Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 and Changjon Primary School of Central District completed teaching methods, teaching aids and educational support programs.

Technical senior middle schools across the country create new teaching methods conducive to raising the practical ability of students.

Besides, a work to reduce the differences of educational level between the urban and rural areas is in progress.
