High-yielding Fruit Trees Newly Bred in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The Institute of Pomiculture of the Academy of Agricultural Science in the DPRK has newly bred 10-odd species of high-yielding fruit trees and listed them as the national variety.

Researchers pushed ahead with the work for breeding high-yielding fruit trees with high productivity and good taste. In the course, they selected species superior in ripening speed, sugar content and fruit size to the existing ones and succeeded in their test cultivation.
