The event was aimed to disseminate and generalize the sci-tech successes and experience conducive to the enhancement of safety of the railway and its reinforcement.

Attending it were officials, scientists and technicians from the Ministry of Railways, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang University of Transport, the Railway Institute and the IT Institute under the Ministry of Railways and engine service brigades of each Railway Bureau.

Presented there were over 60 valuable papers by officials, scientists and technicians in the field of railway transport across the country. Also, discussed were good proposals helpful to strengthening the material and technical foundation for the railway.

During the event, there were technical lectures on ensuring the safety of train service and raising the traffic capacity of railways.
