Foundation for Dairy Products Cemented in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Food Industry under the Ministry of Food Industry in the DPRK concentrates efforts on the work to strengthen the foundation for making dairy products.

Its officials and researchers established a powder lactic acid bacteria production process and succeeded in separating highly-active lactic acid bacteria of various kinds. They also laid a foundation for ensuring the industrial production of yoghurt bacteria.

The academy dispatched its researchers to several parts of the country to solve the sci-tech problems arising in the production of yoghurt, while supplying yoghurt bacteria to production bases in local areas.

And it manufactured high-efficient equipment and vacuum concentrators to send them to different units including the Kimhwa County Foodstuff Factory and thus contributed to normalizing the production of dairy products.

It is now pushing ahead with the work to provide all production units with technical data helpful to producing quality milk powder and highly nutritious yoghurt.
