In April Juche 40 (1951), Hero Han Kye Ryol and 12 soldiers of the Korean People's Army repelled the seven rounds of attacks by one battalion of the enemy. When the enemy attacked again, they fought a hand-to-hand battle with the enemy to honorably defend a height of the country, shouting "Height of the country is mine".

President Kim Il Sung highly appreciated Han's patriotic deed and took a step to launch a movement titled "My height".

Such movements initiated by the President served as a powerful engine of inspiring the serviceperson to perform heroic feats.

The workers conducted a wartime increased production movement and a front work-team movement to boost the production five or six times as against the prewar period.

Farmers, too, launched such mass movements as the plow-woman movement, the high-yielding movement and the movement for donating relief grains to the front, and thus considerably increased the grain production and donated a large amount of grains to the front.

The wartime mass movements, conducted on the front and the rear in the 1950s, strikingly displayed the indomitable will and heroic mettle of the servicepersons and civilians of the DPRK and greatly contributed to the great victory in the war.
