Measures Taken to Prevent Flood Damage in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the field of railway transport take measures to prevent flood damage, true to the idea and spirit of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Ministry of Railways properly assigned tasks to quickly cope with any flood damage on the lasting rainy front and concretely subdivided orders of conduct.

Every railway bureau and branch bureau direct efforts to protecting facilities from flood and reinforce railways with their own tools and equipment in inclined sections and dangerous spots in which a landslide may occur.

The Hamhung Railway Bureau tackled imperfect factors in advance after inquiring into the technical conditions of railways, and finished retaining walls at an early date by finding out the dangerous sections in time.

The same is true of Kaechon, Pyongyang, Chongjin and Rason railway bureaus.
