Steps Taken to Minimize Flood Damage in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Farm villages in Kaesong City of the DPRK are continuously pushing ahead with the work to protect the arable lands and crops from damage by heavy rains.

Agricultural officials in the city and its districts have been active in the areas under their charge to conduct the prompt organization and guidance over farming so as to minimize the damage to crops by natural disasters.

Such positive steps are taken as making full readiness to cope with flood and digging drainage canals.

The agricultural workers in Kaephung District have taken measures to minimize damage from flood and typhoon by keeping safe water level at reservoirs and reinforcing tide-water control dykes.

Farms in Phanmun District have conducted the water control on paddy fields in a scientific and technological way after taking a step to protect the maize fields.

Meanwhile, the city pushes ahead with the work to supply fertilizer substitute and agrochemicals to the farms.
