Struggle for Coping with Disastrous Abnormal Weather Launched
Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- North Phyongan Province of the DPRK is directing steady efforts into the prevention of flood damage.

Officials in the agricultural, land management and urban management sectors make full preparations to minimize the damage while taking security measures over dangerous spots.

Manpower and means are concentrated on the work to reinforce the dangerous or imperfect sections of drainage canals and river embankment.

The Paekma-Cholsan Waterway Management Station and the Amnokgang Area Irrigation Management Station meticulously manage the structures and take relevant steps while measuring the water level of reservoirs and waterways by hour.

The Taegwan County Forest Management Station has conducted the work to plant fast-growing trees with high economic effectiveness in surrounding mountains.

Sakju County carried out a project for piling stones on revetment covering more than 70,000 square meters, laying broken stones and installing more than 700 protection walls and planted tens of thousands of trees to ensure the safety and modernity of roads.

Kusong City completed the dredging of various rivers and anti-land-sliding project.
