V-Day Celebrated in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- Officials, working people, youth and students across the country meaningfully celebrated the V-Day with the revolutionary and militant spirit to add luster to the victorious tradition of great July 27 through generations.

Entering the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, the masses paid the highest tribute to the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Service personnel of the People's Army and the masses toured the revolutionary sites associated with the history of the President who led the war to victory, recalling the greatness of the iron-willed and illustrious commander who performed military miracles to be specially recorded in the world war history during the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War.

Many people visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery to lay bouquets and flowers before them.

Working people, youth and students across the country visited statues and cemeteries of martyrs, the memorial towers for the fallen soldiers of the KPA and graves of martyrs and paid the highest tribute to the proud generation, the victors of the great years.

The national flags were hoisted at the industrial establishments and fluttered at the windows of houses across the country.

Colorful performances were given at theatres in Pyongyang and other parts of the country.

Public commercial and catering establishments in Pyongyang and local areas were busy with holiday service.

Many working people, youth and students across the country had meetings with war veterans and visited their families to enjoy the holiday together with them.

On the same day, there took place an evening gala of youth and students in Pyongyang and dancing parties of youth and students and women's union members in all provincial seats, cities and counties.
