The contests were aimed to enhance the quality of products and contribute to producing Korean-style farming machines, true to the Party's policy on raising the level of technicians and skilled workers and increasing their ranks.

Excellent skilled workers, selected from ministries, national institutions and provincial people's committees, took part in the contests.

Standings of the contests were set in the way of examining the cognition of professional knowledge and the preparation of tools and assessing the quantity and quality of work.
