Meetings with Women of Former Generation Held
Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- Meetings with women of the former generation were hosted by working people's organizations in the DPRK on July 29 to mark the anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality.

Present at the meetings were officials and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the Socialist Women's Union of Korea.

Speeches were made by women heroes in the Chollima age who performed feats by devoting their pure conscience and sincere efforts to the country and people.

They told about the glory and happiness the women have enjoyed under the loving care of the Workers' Party of Korea for more than 70 years after the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality.

Ri Sin Ja, who met with agricultural workers at the plaza of the Rihyon Revolutionary Museum, said that thanks to the loving care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, she, once an ordinary rural girl, could become a red agitator and a Labor Hero well known to the whole country.

Kim Jong Sun, head of the Publications Distribution Office in Phyongchon District, met with women's union members at the Hall of Women. She noted that President Kim Il Sung personally sent a letter to her in praise of her deed done to save seven schoolgirls from an air hole in frozen river, calling it a model of the noble communist spirit.

Jon Ok Hwa, a weaver of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill who grew up to be a multi-loom operator and a Labor Hero in the flames of the Chollima movement, told about the noble mental world of women in the Chollima age who did their best to carry out their daily plans.

Amid the enthusiasm growing among those participants, "Song of Chollima Forerunner" sung by women heroes in the Chollima age and members of the women's union art squad reverberated at the meeting venue.
