Strong Protective Anti-epidemic Posture Maintained in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- A vigorous anti-epidemic campaign to protect the safety of the country and the people's lives and health from the ever-looming threat of the epidemic virus sweeping the world continuously goes on as the top priority across the DPRK and its society.

The state emergency anti-epidemic headquarters strictly abides by the state anti-epidemic guidelines to strongly maintain the current anti-epidemic stability and completely eliminate the source of the epidemic spread and strengthens public order while meticulously carrying out planning and command to maintain a protective anti-epidemic posture.

A new guide specifying the scientific and technical requirements to be met in test of monkeypox was issued and distributed to emergency anti-epidemic units at all levels.

The Medical Instrument Institute of the Medical Appliance Industrial Management Bureau under the Ministry of Public Health and the Control Machine Institute under the State Academy of Sciences carries out clinical examination of newly-developed medical appliances such as a mobile oxygen generator at central-level hospitals, thus examining and confirming their safety and efficiency.

Emergency anti-epidemic units at all levels learn in detail about the production of disinfectants at industrial establishments and public transport units routinely and let them ensure their quality.

Baby homes, orphanages, care homes for the aged and homes for the disabled in each province pay attention to ensuring the health of orphans and the elderly and providing a clean living environment by regularly ventilating and disinfecting bedrooms, dining rooms, rest rooms and exercise rooms.

Testing and quarantining manpower at trading ports and improving tests and medical checkups of seamen and workers of trade cargo boats are reinforced, the speed and accuracy of anti-epidemic work ensured and practical measures taken to expand the capacity for handling exports and imports.
