Celebrations Held in Uganda
Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- A meeting, lecture and film show through internet took place in Kampala on August 1-3 to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Uganda.

Present there were the general secretary of the Uganda National Resistance Movement and personages of the government, political party, organizations and institutions including the presidency, the prime minister's office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Resistance Movement.

Screened at the film show were videos of the development of Juche Korea and scenic spots of the DPRK and Uganda.

Speakers at the celebrations warmly congratulated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, saying that the bilateral relations are the friendly ones with long history.

They said that President Kim Il Sung met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who visited Pyongyang several times and made great efforts to develop the bilateral relations.

They stressed that immortal are the feats of President Kim Il Sung and HE Kim Jong Il who rendered material and moral assistance to the people of African countries including Uganda in their struggle for national liberation and the building of a new society and made great contribution to the accomplishment of the global cause of independence.

They lauded the Korean people for bringing about a new victory in socialist construction while overcoming all sorts of challenges and difficulties, united close around the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

They called upon the African countries to follow the example of the DPRK in order to achieve peace and prosperity under the current serious situation.
