On the basis of a scientific and realistic educational development plan to implement the Party's policy for bringing about a radical improvement in education, the Education Commission set a high target for improving the qualities of teachers and has guided the work to attain it.

Teachers have striven to steadily improve the contents, forms and methods of education. In the course, a demonstration class, during which a teacher and students put forward questions and answers after watching videos of advanced and fine lectures at home and abroad, and a new teaching method were created. Preparations for applying them to universities and colleges are now under way.

Teacher training colleges drew up an advanced curriculum so that their graduates could successfully implement the second program for the universal 12-year compulsory education.

Ace teachers of the universities in Pyongyang were dispatched to all provinces, including North Phyongan Province, to give refresher training to teachers and researchers there.
