The province provided cities and counties with spray drying powdered milk production equipment to raise the quality and the actual extraction rate of powdered milk, while pushing ahead with the project to increase the capacity of goat farms or update them. The number of dairy cows and goats has considerably increased, raising the milk production amount by 30 percent than last year's.

Kumya County finished its planned production of milk powder first in the province and Jongphyong County increased the milk production by 50 percent than last year.

Hamhung and Sinpho cities built or reconstructed dozens of goat pens and created thousands of hectares of grassland, thus opening up a prospect for increased dairy production.
