Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- The Taekwon-Do Hall in the DPRK plays the role as a center for the development of national martial arts. The hall was renovated into a splendid one, as befits the position of the homeland of Taekwon-Do, and inaugurated on Aug. 21, Juche 106 (2017). Over the past five years since then, it has hosted lots of international and national games and produced Taekwon-Do stars and tens of thousands of trainees, contributing to demonstrating the Korean nation's stamina and stirring up the zeal for learning Taekwon-Do throughout the country. In January 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave important teachings on the country's sports development and took a step to excellently rebuild the Taekwon-Do Hall associated with the leadership feats of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il. Later, he frequently learned about its reconstruction, preferentially settling any knotty problems. Consequently, a solid foundation for further developing the traditional martial arts was laid with the emergence of the modernly-equipped hall. The hall will hand down to posterity the feats performed by our Party for the development of the nation's orthodox martial arts, Taekwon-Do. |
