The statement said that the Chairman's visit to the Far Eastern Region provided a firm foundation for putting the traditional Russia-DPRK friendly relations onto a higher level as required by a new century. It went on:

Thanks to the agreements reached at the Russia-DPRK summit meetings and talks, a new milestone was provided in strengthening the strategic cooperation between the two countries for ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

Comrade Kim Jong Il's three visits to Russia are of great historic significance as they served as the powerful driving force that helped overcome all trials and difficulties, strengthen mutual support and cooperation in line with the common interests and further develop the Russia-DPRK friendship.

We extend firm support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for carrying out the great tasks set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea.
