DPRK Senior Officials Mark Youth Day with Young People

Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- An atmosphere of celebrating the Youth Day, the holiday of the new generation of revolution, pervaded the whole of the DPRK. On Aug. 28, senior party and government officials celebrated the Youth Day with the young people across the country. Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, went to Kim Chaek University of Technology and Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, to the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex to congratulate the young people on the holiday. Kim Jae Ryong, Jon Hyon Chol, Pak Thae Song, Pak Jong Gun, Pak Thae Dok, Kim Hyong Sik, Jo Chun Ryong, Han Kwang Sang, Ri Chol Man, Yang Sung Ho, Ju Chol Gyu, Kim Yong Hwan and other party and government cadres visited the Chollima Steel Complex, the Sangwon Cement Complex, Kim Il Sung University, the Chongsan Farm in Kangso District, the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex, the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, the construction site of 10,000 flats in the Hwasong area, etc. to celebrate the Youth Day with the young people. Those cadres laid bouquets before the statues and portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the mosaics depicting their images in relevant areas and units, and paid tribute to them. They looked round the revolutionary museums, the rooms for education in the revolutionary history and the rooms dedicated to the history of those units. They met with exemplary young workers and students. They also appreciated the art performances prepared by young people and took part in colorful functions such as sports and amusement games. |
