Over the last ten years, more than 570 primary (sub-primary) youth league committees and at least 3 060 youth league officials and members have received Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize and Kim Jong Il Youth Honor Prize. They built up the youth league organizations into young vanguard ones through a vigorous struggle for defending and glorifying the Party's idea on the youth movement and its leadership feats, fully displayed the stamina of patriotic youth in the worthwhile struggle for defence of the country and socialist construction and distinguished themselves in the study and organizational life.

Among them are a student of the then Inphung Middle School in Sinhung County who devoted her life to safeguarding the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, navy soldiers who died heroic deaths during their combat mission and a graduate of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education who volunteered to work as a teacher at a school on a forefront islet.

There are also youths who contributed to erecting the statues of the President and the Chairman and sprucing up the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun as the sacred temple of Juche.

And they include those who contributed to wonderfully reconstructing the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and performed shining labor feats at such major theaters of socialist construction as the construction of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, the Wonsan Army-People Power Station, the first-stage project for the South Hwanghae Provincial Waterway and the construction of Ryomyong Street, the livestock farming base in the Sepho area and the Koam-Tapchon Railways.

It is the boundless pride of the country to have a large contingent of trustworthy patriotic youths who are working miracles and feats every day in the van of the general advance toward a fresh victory.
