The message said that over the last 60-odd years the friendly and cooperative relations between the peoples of the two countries have steadily developed in the political, economic, cultural and all sectors and versatile contacts and exchanges have made progress.

The message noted that President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il had the historic meeting with Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz who visited the DPRK in March 1986, which served as an important occasion in developing the DPRK-Cuba friendly relations onto a high stage.

In particular, the meeting and talks between the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez in November 2018 was a historic event that further developed the friendly relations based on the long history and tradition into special comradely and strategic relations in line with the requirements of the new era, the message added.

The message noted that it is a common demand of the peoples of the two countries to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Cuba and strengthen the solidarity on the road of socialism and it is also a great contribution to defending socialism and accomplishing the human cause of independence.

It expressed the will to make all efforts to continuously develop the traditional friendly and cooperative relations with the Cuban people based on the revolutionary principle and comradely obligation in close liaison with each other in the future, too.
