National Meeting of Exchanging Experiences in Forestry Sector Held

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- A national meeting of exchanging experiences in the forestry sector was held through videoconferencing on Aug. 30 and 31 under the sponsorship of the Forestry Association of Korea of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

The meeting, held on the theme of "Scientific Production and Creation of Saplings", was aimed at popularizing the successes and experiences achieved in creating and taking care of forests true to the Party's policy on land management.

Participating in the meeting were officials, scientists and technicians of more than 40 units, including Kim Il Sung University, the Ministry of Forestry, the Forestry General Bureau of the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection and the Academy of Forest Science.

The meeting referred to the sci-tech successes and experience gained in raising the germinating rate of seeds, in boosting the rate of rooting of saplings by taking good care of them and in developing and using the Korean-style botanical chemicals.
