The Hungarian Workers' Party in its statement on August 28 said that the U.S. and the south Korean puppets staged the largest-ever joint military exercises that can cause a military conflict.

It is a political and military provocation for the purpose of wrecking the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula and blocking the dynamic socialist construction of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the statement said, and went on:

We strongly demand that the reckless war exercises are stopped at once and the sovereignty of the Republic is respected.

We extend firm solidarity to the Workers' Party and the government of Korea opposing the aggressive moves of the hostile forces.

The chairperson and the international secretary of the Finnish Communists' League in a joint press statement on August 29 stressed that the joint military exercises for aggressive war are driving the situation of the Korean peninsula to a hair-trigger situation.

The press statement went on:

The U.S. and the south Korean puppets are asserting that the military exercises are to cope with the "threat" of the Republic, but this is a ridiculous sophism making profound confusing of right and wrong.

The Republic is not threatening the surrounding countries but firmly adhering to the peace-loving attitude and the stand of self-defence.

The Republic gives warnings several times to the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by the joint military exercises.

The tension on the Korean peninsula is totally caused by the U.S. and south Korean puppet trigger-happy elements.

The dangerous joint military exercises should be stopped unconditionally.
