Efforts Made in DPRK to Prevent Natural Disasters
Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- All sectors and units of the DPRK organize the work to reliably protect the life and property of the country and people from natural disasters in a mobile way.

After scrupulously organizing the work to prevent damage from a typhoon, the Cabinet took practical measures and summed up their implementation.

The Agricultural Commission and the agricultural guidance organs at all levels took proper agricultural technical measures to maintain and repair drainage facilities in order to minimize damage.

The electric power industrial sector learned in detail about parts of hydraulic structures, including waterways, dams and water intakes, which are vulnerable to damage, and took necessary measures. And it took steps to prevent damage to coal yards and railway roadbeds of thermal power plants.

Measures to prevent the loss of lives by typhoon are being taken at all construction sites.

The railway transport sector is repairing railways, railway bridges and tunnels in time and pressing ahead with the work to ensure the safe operation of trains.

The same is true of the coal, mining, metallurgical, chemical and salt industrial sectors.
