Several provinces including North and South Phyongan provinces and North Hamgyong Province are making the study and discussion to apply the technical assignments and process designs from the national institutions in keeping with their actual conditions.

North Hwanghae Province has innovated some process designs of the Sariwon Condiment Factory and vigorously accelerated the manufacturing of equipment and the establishment of automatic control system. It sets a goal for getting the greatest profit by rationally distributing processes of paper producing factories.

South Hamgyong Province has completed a formation plan of the Hamhung Honored Disabled Soldiers' Ballpen Factory and is pushing ahead with modernization of production processes while accelerating the reconstruction of buildings.

Several cities and counties in the province set the goals for updating the regional-industry factories and are carrying them out.

North Phyongan Province strives to update the foodstuff factories of Kujang, Sonchon and Sakju counties.
