Looking up to the national flag of the DPRK flying high in the sky of September, the Korean people are full of the pride and honor of being citizens of the Republic.

After the liberation of the country, President Kim Il Sung indicated the profound ideological contents to be reflected in the national flag and ways for expression and successfully completed them.

The national flag was hoisted amid the solemn playing of the national anthem at the Fifth Session of the People’s Assembly of North Korea in July, Juche 37 (1948).

After two months the DPRK was founded and since then our national flag has fluttered as a symbol of dignity, victory and glory in the minds of the people.

Famous songs of national treasure such as "Ode to the Motherland" and "Our National Flag" vividly and concretely reflecting the ardent love of the people for the country and their pride have been produced, adding shine to the dignity of the national flag.

The DPRK will demonstrate its dignity before the world as the country of the eternal sun and the national flag of the DPRK will further shine as the banner of victory and glory as it holds the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem.
