Campaign for Preventing Damage by Typhoon Gains Momentum
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- Kaesong City in the DPRK makes the disastrous abnormal weather a fait accompli and takes full measures for protecting the lives of the people and the land of the country from natural disasters while paying sharp attention to the present climate condition.

The city has organized emergency rescue and medical teams to timely cope with the possible disasters and identified defects and taken measures against them while reexamining rescue equipment.

It has constantly kept watch on the water level of reservoirs and rivers in close liaison with relevant sectors and preferentially mobilized manpower and vehicles for reinforcing anti-tidal dyke.

Officials and working people in the field of agriculture have turned out in the efforts to minimize the damage of crops by flood and typhoon.

The city has deployed forest rangers in the areas vulnerable to landslides while keeping watch on overall roads including the highway and ensuring the security of embankments.

The fields of railway transport, telecommunications and power distribution have grasped the state of dangerous sections and taken timely measures.
