DPRK Premier Makes Field Survey of Farming in South Hwanghae Province
Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, made a field survey of the work for preventing disasters and the farming situation of South Hwanghae Province.

Looking around anti-tidal dykes in some areas including Yonan and Chongdan counties and Haeju City, he called upon officials to constantly push ahead with the work for boosting the capability to prevent disaster above all other works, bearing in mind that it is an important work for the prosperity and development of the state and the protection of the people's lives.

He stressed the need to give a priority to the work for examining in detail the security of the housing estates and the public facilities and for finding out all defects and eliminating them and to reinforce the anti-tidal dykes, making it a fait accompli that the subsequent typhoons hit the country.

While learning in detail about the farming of different farms in Haeju City and counties including Pyoksong, Kangryong, Sinchon and Thaethan counties, he called upon officials and working people in the field of agriculture to increase crop yields to the maximum by conducting manuring and cultivation of crops in a responsible manner, not slackening tension in line with the persistent unfavorable climate.

The consultative meetings discussed issues of concentrating all efforts on safeguarding security of areas and units in charge from natural disasters, taking agricultural and technical measures to overcome the effects of disastrous abnormal weather and of making full preparations for harvesting and threshing at the farms and took relevant measures.
