Divided into two groups, teams played basketball (men's), volleyball, table tennis, a tug of war, Taekwon-Do and other sporting events. The players displayed their team spirit, perseverance and skills they improved through mass sports activities.

The first place in the group total standings of the contest was taken by the Academy of Medical Science and the General Dental Hospital under the Ministry of Public Health, the second place by the Pyongyang University of Medicine Hospital and the Namsan Hospital, and the third place by the Korea General Red Cross Hospital and the Okryu Children's Hospital.

A closing ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Sept. 23.

Attending it were Ri Chung Gil, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, public health workers, players and employees of central-level hospitals and the Academy of Medical Science.
