The work to create green belts, one of the important affairs for providing the people with happiness and civilization, is associated with the noble patriotism of the peerlessly great man.

While guiding the work to turf the courtyard of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on a day of September, Juche 101 (2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un told officials that it is the plan and decision of the Party to make the whole country green by planting lots of trees in mountains and good turf along streets and on spaces.

Talking about the issues of putting the cultivation of turf on a scientific basis and doing well the breeding and seedage of turf, he said that everybody should throw themselves into creating lawn out of high patriotism.

Later, he put forward the idea of establishing a turf institute and saw to it that it was built in a short period. When the turf institute was completed, he personally went to the spot to give valuable teachings.

True to his noble will, the Pyongyang Turf Institute has developed new technologies conducive to greening and striven to apply them in recent years.

The institute has also made progress in increasing the yield of seeds of major turf species and spreading them to various parts of the country.
