Going round low- and single-storied and terraced houses under construction on the Jisin Vegetable Farm in Huichon City, the premier urged officials and builders to splendidly build all the dwelling houses by more strictly observing the requirements of designing and building work and ensuring the timely supply of materials, well aware of being the masters in implementing the Party's new programme of socialist rural construction.

At the Huichon City Finishing Building Materials Factory, he gave pep-talks to its technicians and workers producing various kinds of finishing building materials with locally available raw materials. And he underscored the need for the factory to play a big role in the rural housing construction by technically perfecting the production processes and methods and speeding up the development of new products.

Visiting the Huichon Precision Machine Plant, he called for setting a development-oriented goal and pushing forward with the technical innovation and upgrading of equipment and improving the technical skill of employees to produce plenty of quality accessory parts.

At the Phyongwon tideland under reclamation, the premier underlined the need to well plan and guide the construction work with the main stress put on ensuring the economic profitability and to actively apply the reasonable construction methods and new sci-tech achievements.

Inspecting the Central Light Industrial Sample Exhibition, he stressed the importance to make all the consumer goods well-received, as demanded by the Party's policy on regarding the improvement of the quality of consumer goods as the core and basic direction of the revolution in light industry, and to steadily raise the proportion of home-production of raw and other materials.

Such matters were discussed at field consultative meetings as the issues of thoroughly maintaining the principle of priority to quality over quantity in production and construction and further strengthening the quality control, providing equipment for tideland reclamation in good time and boosting the interaction between consumer goods producers and commercial service units. Then, relevant measures were taken.
