Sculpture, Craftwork Festival Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- The 3rd National Sculpture and Craftwork Festival was opened in the DPRK to celebrate the 77th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Presented to it are the works, highly appreciated at provincial festivals, and more than 410 work pieces created by sculptors, craftsmen and fans from fine art studios, students and pupils and preschoolers.

Among them are plaster sculpture, pyrograph and wood sculpture which vividly represented the military officers and men involved in the grand military parade celebrating the 90th birthday of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and the army medics who contributed to the great victory in the anti-epidemic war after being dispatched to pharmacies in the capital city on the special orders of the Party Central Committee.

There are also works depicting the looks of the people leading a happy life under the care of the motherly Party, and colored clay craft and paper craft presented by schoolchildren.

An opening ceremony took place at the Okryu Exhibition Hall on Oct. 7.

The festival will last until Oct. 30.
