The province launched in a methodological way a campaign to build hospitals, clinics and pharmacies as befitting modern medical service bases after surveying their actual conditions.

The Kwangyon-ri Hospital in Wiwon County and the Jongpho-ri Hospital in Janggang County were newly built and their successes and experience have been introduced to other counties and cities.

The Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory and the Huichon Hospital Bed Factory produced more than 1,600 medical appliances of 10-odd kinds and sent them to hospitals and clinics in rural areas.

Meanwhile, the province is stepping up in a planned way the project to newly build or update Koryo medicine factories and increase their production.
