The volume contains 29 works including speeches and talks made by the Chairman from January to February Juche 81 (1992), the year which marks the 80th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The Chairman in his work "The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party" analyzed the basic reason of the collapse of socialism in some countries and stressed that the socialist cause should be advanced by strengthening the WPK, a working-class party, organizationally and ideologically and firmly ensuring its leadership over the revolution and construction.

He also clarified that the socialist cause would be successfully accomplished by implementing the general line of our Party on carrying through the three revolutions-ideological, technological and cultural-while strengthening the people's government and consistently enhancing its function and role.

There are some works indicating the important issues arising in strongly establishing the Party's monolithic ideological system and monolithic guidance system and the orientation and ways for conducting the unconventional Party ideological work to meet the requirements of the Party's theory of giving importance to ideology.

Several works reflect the idea of further adding luster to Korean-style socialism by dint of single-minded unity, bearing deep in mind the pride and honor of living and making a revolution in the most advantageous socialist system under the guidance of the great leader and the great Party.

Some works deal with the tasks for strengthening the politico-ideological education among servicepersons, fully displaying the traditional trait of army-people unity and producing art works to be performed by the Korean People's Army Song and Dance Ensemble.

There are also works that call for completing the construction of 50, 000 flats in Pyongyang City by the 80th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and teach the architects to cherish deep in their mind the Party's idea and theory on architecture and correctly apply them to every structure.

Contained in some works are the tasks and ways for developing the Juche-oriented literature and art and producing more excellent films conducive to the politico-ideological education of the people.

The volume also contains works giving perfect answers to the theoretical and practical problems arising in the revolution and construction.
